We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care Float to join the team.

Position Summary

The Acute Care Float RN provides safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care across designated acute care units.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and collaboration within interdisciplinary teams while practicing under the Professional Practice Model and Shared Governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Practice


* Perform the complete nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice


* Deliver individualized, relationship-based, patient-centered care across diverse patient populations


* Partner with patients and families through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely patient education


* Practice in accordance with current clinical standards and professional nursing regulations

Teamwork & Collaboration


* Coordinate and document safe, high-quality patient care that supports the professional care delivery model


* Utilize inclusive interdisciplinary communication (rounds, case reviews, collaboration meetings)


* Promote a respectful, inclusive work environment that supports staff engagement and retention


* Participate in shared governance and system-wide performance improvement initiatives

Professional Development


* Complete all required onboarding, competency assessments, and ongoing education


* Serve as a preceptor or mentor for nurses, students, and interdisciplinary staff


* Model professional nursing practice and contribute to a positive, healthy work environment

Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement


* Support nursing research, evidence-based practice, and performance improvement initiatives


* Participate in value analysis and data collection to enhance patient care outcomes


* Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards, including TJC Patient Safety Goals and safety absolutes

Resource Management


* Proactively plan patient care across the continuum


* Assist in protocol and procedure development to improve quality and efficiency


* Support effective use of staffing, supplies, and clinical resources

Required Qualifications

Education


* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required)


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred

Licensure & Certifications


* Active Georgia RN License or Multistate Compact RN License
