As a full-time night‑shift ED RN (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Position Summary

The Emergency Department Clinical Nurse (RN) is an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team, providing individualized, safe, and patient-centered emergency nursing care.

This role follows the Professional Practice Model, Shared Governance Model, and evidence-based nursing standards to ensure exceptional outcomes for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Nursing Practice & Patient Care


* Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and implement the full nursing process using evidence-based practice


* Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered emergency care aligned with age-specific and population-specific needs


* Partner with patients and families through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient education


* Maintain compliance with Georgia Nurse Practice Act and ANA Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics

Teamwork & Collaboration


* Coordinate and document high-quality emergency care using interdisciplinary communication methods


* Foster an inclusive, respectful, and professional clinical environment


* Participate in shared governance, quality improvement initiatives, and research utilization

Professional Development


* Complete all required competencies, certifications, and continuing education


* Serve as a preceptor or mentor to nurses, students, and interdisciplinary staff


* Model professional nursing practice and support workforce development

Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement


* Promote nursing research, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives


* Participate in data collection and value analysis to improve emergency care outcomes


* Uphold all regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards (including TJC Patient Safety Goals)

Resource Management


* Support efficient use of staffing and clinical resources


* Assist in protocol and procedure development to improve patient flow, safety, and outcomes

Required Qualifications

Education


* Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (Required)


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred

Licensure & Certifications (Required unless otherwise stated)


* Active Georgia RN License or Multistate Compact RN License


* BLS (Basic Life Support)


* ACLS – within 90 days


* PALS – within 180 days


* TNCC or ATCN – within 18 months
