Job Overview

We are seeking a Full‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Acute Care Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit in Augusta, Georgia.

This night shift RN position provides specialized care to immunocompromised and oncology patients requiring close monitoring, advanced clinical judgment, and compassionate, high‑acuity nursing care.

Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) & Oncology Unit Overview

The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit is a closed Intermediate Care (IMC) unit specializing in the care of patients with hematologic malignancies.

The unit provides advanced therapies including immunotherapy, stem cell transplantation, and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‑cell therapy, utilizing engineered stem cells to treat complex cancer diagnoses.

BMT nurses support a highly specialized patient population with longer average lengths of stay, allowing nurses to build strong therapeutic relationships with patients and families.

Due to the acuity and complexity of care, BMT nurses are often detail‑oriented, highly organized, and clinically focused.

BMT Unit Highlights


* Closed IMC unit (does not float to other units)


* Required on‑call rotation: one call shift every two weeks (two shifts per four‑week period)


* Nurse‑to‑patient ratios:
+ Days: 1:3 (ideal), with charge nurse support dependent on transplant volume
+ Nights: 1:4 maximum


* High‑acuity oncology population requiring precision, continuity, and advanced clinical judgment

Schedule & Compensation Highlights


* Full‑Time Nights: 36 hours per week (three 12‑hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Care Coordination


* Monitor, assess, and evaluate patient conditions in an acute care BMT environment


* Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans


* Apply independent clinical judgment to support short‑ and long‑term patient outcomes


* Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate complex patient care


* Prioritize patient flow and patient experience during night shift operations


* Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, changes in condition, care delivered, education, and outcomes

Patient Advocacy & Experience


* Serve as an advocate and liaison between patients, families, providers, and care teams
