Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurology – Night Shift

Location: Augusta, Georgia 
Schedule: Full‑Time | Night Shift
Unit: Neurology / Neuroscience

Job Overview

We are seeking a Full‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join Neurology, a specialized inpatient unit providing high‑quality neurological care on behalf of our client.

This night shift RN role supports adult patients requiring comprehensive nursing assessment, coordinated care, and strong clinical judgment.

Nurses are valued as frontline caregivers and clinical leaders.

You will practice in a collaborative environment that supports professional growth, shared governance, and patient‑centered excellence.

Our Neuroscience unit is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and 16‑bed acute care unit specializing in the treatment of adult patients (ages 16+) with neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses.

The unit supports a high‑acuity patient population that demands vigilant monitoring, sound clinical decision‑making, and seamless interdisciplinary teamwork.

Current staffing needs are greatest on the PM shift.

Nurses typically maintain a 1:4 patient ratio, with the ability to expand to 1:5 based on patient acuity and clinical appropriateness.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Care Coordination


* Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions


* Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans


* Apply independent clinical judgment while following established policies and procedures


* Coordinate care and communicate patient needs with providers and interdisciplinary teams


* Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, education, and outcomes

Patient Advocacy & Experience


* Serve as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and care teams


* Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and care plans


* Promote patient‑ and family‑centered care to support satisfaction and outcomes


* Ensure confidentiality and adherence to professional and regulatory standards

Quality & Performance Improvement


* Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives


* Contribute ideas to improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes


* Support initiatives focused on patient safety, quality, and staff engagement

Professional Competency & Leadership


* Maintain RN licensure and required certifications


* Complete ongoing education and required training


* Mentor and precept new nurses and support team development


* Participate in shared governance councils or sponsored activities


* Uphold system policies, standards, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

Education


* Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma (Required)


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred)

Licensure & Certifications (Required upon Hire)
