Job Overview

We are seeking a Full‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join Neurology, a Comprehensive Stroke Center and 16‑bed acute care neuroscience unit, located in Augusta, Georgia.

This night shift RN position supports adult patients (ages 16+) with neurological and neurosurgical conditions who require close monitoring, sound clinical judgment, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Unit Highlights –Neuroscience


* Comprehensive Stroke Center


* 16‑bed acute care unit


* Adult population (ages 16+)


* Neurology and neurosurgery focus


* High‑acuity patients requiring advanced nursing assessment and monitoring


* Standard nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 1:4, with flexibility to extend to 1:5 when clinically appropriate


* Primary staffing need: PM / Night shift

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Care Coordination


* Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions


* Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans


* Apply independent nursing judgment within established policies and procedures


* Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams


* Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Patient Advocacy & Experience


* Serve as a primary liaison between patients, families, providers, and care teams


* Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and care plans


* Promote patient‑ and family‑centered care to support satisfaction and outcomes


* Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory and professional standards

Quality, Improvement & Professional Practice


* Participate in performance and quality improvement initiatives


* Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and training


* Support shared governance through council participation or sponsored activities


* Mentor and precept new nurses and contribute to a positive team culture


* Uphold System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

Education


* Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma (Required)


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred)

Licensure & Certifications (Required upon Hire)


* Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia single‑state or Compact / Multistate)


* BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross)
