Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT II) to join the respiratory care team for full-time weekend night shifts.

This role delivers advanced respiratory care in critical care environments, utilizing protocol-driven ventilator management, independent clinical decision-making, and expanded evaluate-and-treat responsibilities.

The RRT II provides patient-centered care across complex clinical conditions while supporting patient education, staff development, and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Critical Care Support


* Deliver respiratory therapy care for complex, high-acuity patients


* Perform ventilator management, weaning, and waveform interpretation


* Manage airway interventions (intubation, extubation, trach care)


* Administer aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, oxygen, and medical gas therapy


* Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis


* Assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures as applicable


* Support cardiac services and pulmonary diagnostics (location-specific)

Care Coordination & Education


* Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to plan and deliver care


* Educate patients, families, and support systems


* Mentor and precept new employees, students, and peers


* Participate in staff development and professional education activities

Quality, Safety & Compliance


* Ensure accurate electronic documentation, orders, and charging


* Promote medication safety, NPSGs, and patient safety standards


* Support performance improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives


* Review and follow departmental policies and procedures


* Comply with all standards and code of conduct

Required Education


* Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy


* Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy – Preferred

Required Licensure & Certifications

(All required upon hire unless otherwise noted)


* Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT)


* Georgia Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) License


* BLS – Basic Life Support


* ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support


* PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support


* NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (within 180 days if provisional accepted)

Required Experience


* 0–2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience


* Minimum 6 months of critical care experience required
