Dietary Cook

Position Summary

Moraga Post Acute is seeking a reliable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that meet physician orders, dietary guidelines, and resident preferences.

Your work will play an important role in enhancing resident satisfaction and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary requirements


* Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines


* Ensure meals accommodate special diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified)


* Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices


* Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure safety compliance


* Assist with tray line and meal service as needed


* Keep kitchen and cooking areas clean, organized, and well-maintained


* Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations


* Support inventory management, ordering, and proper stock rotation

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred


* Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or food service setting required


* Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standards


* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


* Strong attention to detail and time management skills


* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities


* Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Schedule & Benefits


* Status: Full-Time (weekends and holidays may be required)


* Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
