Maintenance Assistant at NHC HealthCare Smithville

NHC HealthCare Smithville is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join their team! This position requires personal contact with residents, a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations.

You must be able to work as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision.

As a Maintenance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Position Highlights:


* Heavy duty cleaning, light grounds care, maintenance of institutional equipment.


* Keep records of work performed.


* Coordinate work with other departments so as not interrupt patient care or normal business functions.


* Able to be on call for emergencies.


* Perform or direct duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, driveways, etc.

May include gardening, landscaping, cleaning-up, snow removal, etc (except that performed under service contract).

Qualifications:


* High school graduate or graduate of a technical school.


* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.

Knowledge of local codes and ordinances.

Knowledge of safety regulations.


* Ability to plan and carry out programs in repair or new construction and/or installation.

Ability to direct others.


* Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.


* Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.


* Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients.


* H-VAC experience is preferred, but not required.
