As a Principal Software Engineer, you will work on innovative solutions using new and current technologies.

You will design and implement capabilities, often spanning multiple components.

You will:


* Contribute to the development and architecture of our industry-leading modern storage platforms and take part in the full software development life cycle, including development, test, continuous delivery, and maintenance.


* Create detailed technical designs for new features and improvements.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all areas.


* Work on discovery tasks and proof of concepts around modern networking solutions


* Implement company standards and practices to ensure quality and security.


* Coach and mentor more junior team members.

Here's what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements


* Exceptional programming skills with 8+ years of related experience


* Strong skills in C and/or Python; willingness to learn across the stack


* Excellent understanding of modern Linux, including the kernel, drivers, containers, early boot, and other low-level technologies


* Analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills


* Self driven, detail oriented, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from design to implementation

Desirable Requirements


* Familiarity and hands-on experience with Storage systems


* Knowledge about networking (ethernet, infiniband etc.)


* Capacity to achieve proficiency in new tools, languages and frameworks with training and on-the-job experience


* Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate in an Agile/ Scrum environment
