Lead Software Engineer - Java/AWS

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities


* Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities


* Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration


* Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements


* Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements


* Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on Java concepts and 8+ years applied experience.

In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience


* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


* Proficiency with programming languages like Java is a must, SQL and experience in Spring boot, Micro services, AWS


* Hands-on experience in RDBMS; Oracle or PostgresSQL


* Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods


* Hands-on experience in AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, EventBridge, PostgresSQL


* Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform & Cloud Formation etc


* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security


* Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Experience in AI driven development and transformation


* Practical cloud native experience


* In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT system
