Registered Nurse II/III - MC/CHC - New to Specialty - Emergency Department

The County of Riverside's Riverside University Health System is seeking New to Specialty Registered Nurses to work in the Emergency Department at the Medical Center in Moreno Valley.

The Emergency Department is a large unit comprised of 40 treatment areas.

There are six acute trauma beds, three acute cardiac beds and six other specially monitored beds for acute patients.

The 25 general exam rooms include a decontamination room, security rooms, an ENT, cast room, and forensic exam room.

The Emergency Department is staffed with attending physicians and resident physicians 24 hours a day.

The Transition to Practice Registered Nurse Program is a 9-week intensive course designed to support experienced Registered Nurses transitioning into the Emergency Department and critical care environment.

This program integrates advanced clinical judgment, professional practice standards, and focused weekly didactics tailored to the unique demands of emergency nursing.

Emphasis is placed on rapid assessment, prioritization, and high-acuity skill development to ensure safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Upon completion, participants will demonstrate the competency, confidence, and critical thinking required to function effectively as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse within a high-acuity, critical care environment.

Required Licenses & Certifications Upon Hire


* A current and valid Registered Nurse license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.


* A current and valid Basic Life Support, (BLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A current and valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support, (ACLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A current and valid Pediatric Advances Life Support, (PALS), certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A current and valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, (NIHSS), certification issued by the American Heart Association, Blue Cloud-National Stroke Association, or Apex.


* A current and valid Trauma Nursing Core Course certification, (TNCC), or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, (ATCN), certification, (required within six months of hire date).

Salary Range (Hourly) & Differentials


* Registered Nurse II - MC/CHC - $45.7530 - $70.8141


* Registered Nurse III - MC/CHC - $53.1735 - $80.2448


* Evening Shift Differential (6:00 p.m.

to 11:00 p.m.): $2.50/hour


* Night shift Differential (11:00 p.m.

to 7:30 a.m.): $5.00/hour
