Job Description

Title: Systems Engineer- Solr

Duties: The Systems Engineer- Solr will work to modernize search platform from legacy monolithic architecture to the latest MACH (Mirco Services, APIs first, Cloud Native, and Headless) architecture.

You will design, code, and test innovative search technologies in a GCP environment and utilize Apache Solr to build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.

This Systems Engineer is responsible for defining code specifications and how systems will be constructed and will work in an incremental delivery model with product-centric teams to develop enterprise solutions.

You will develop less experienced team members through mentorship and one-on-one instruction.

Responsibilities will also include project management and tracking as well as accurate work estimation and execution.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or related and 5 years of software development experience, including:


* Spring framework and Spring Boot
+ Apache Solr including indexing, faceting, and query pipelining
o Python and Bash shell scripting on Linux
o GCP cloud experience, including Java development
o REST APIs design and development including utilizing JSON at an enterprise level

Employer will also accept a master's degree in a relevant field and 3 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience.
