Licensed Psychiatric Technician Per Diem

The Riverside University Health Center - Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join the Arlington Campus, Unit A Department, located in Riverside.

Unit A is an acute inpatient psychiatric unit dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, with a focus on stabilization, recovery, and improved mental health outcomes.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing direct patient care in an inpatient psychiatric setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Duties include safely administering medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policies, as well as monitoring patient behavior, safety, and the therapeutic environment, with prompt reporting of any changes in condition.

The role also involves assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), engaging in therapeutic interactions, and facilitating or co-facilitating structured therapeutic group sessions.

In addition, the incumbent will support the implementation of individualized treatment plans, obtain vital signs, conduct safety checks, and ensure accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities further include participating in de-escalation and crisis intervention procedures, such as Show of Support, Code Green, and restraint or seclusion protocols, in accordance with established policies.

The individual is expected to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment in compliance with Title 22 regulations and hospital policies, while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to support patient care and discharge planning.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on departmental requirements.
Desired Experience/Education:


* At least two (2) years' experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting preferred, including medication administration and therapeutic group facilitation.


* Experience with crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.


* Familiarity with electronic medical records (e.g., Epic).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Schedule:
Per-diem day shift with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m.

to 7:30 p.m., including weekends and holidays as needed.
