* Supervise the day-today maintenance functions of assigned personnel.


* Participates in setting maintenance standards.


* Participates in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.


* Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.


* Ensure that work schedules are followed as closely as practical.


* Perform administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms, reports, etc.) and submit to as necessary.


* Implement recommendations from the Infection Control, Safety, and QA Committees, etc., as directed/necessary.



* Ensure that fire protection and prevention programs are maintained by department personnel in accordance with our fire safety policies and procedures.


* Ensure that maintenance personnel follow safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.


* Ensure that all personnel wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving heavy objects.



* Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a safe and attractive manner.


* Promptly report equipment or facility damage.


* Assist in maintaining safety data sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals.


* Ensure that containers of hazardous chemicals in the department are properly labeled and stored.


* Report all hazardous conditions or equipment.


* Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.


* Ensure that all personnel performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals participate in appropriate in-service training programs prior to performing such tas...
