Position: Guest Lecturer - Artist Teacher of Trumpet

The Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College (Illinois) invites applications for a part-time guest lecturer position beginning in August 2026.

Primary responsibilities for this position include teaching applied harp lessons and contributing to studio class offerings.

Other responsibilities may include coaching chamber music, recruiting prospective harp students, and adjudicating auditions and performance juries.

All candidates should have evidence of successful applied teaching experience and a minimum of an earned master's degree in music.

Priority will be given to applicants with a record of strong teaching, accomplished performance, and Christian faith.

Start Date: August 2026

Position Responsibilities: Guest Lecturer - Artist Teacher of Trumpet

Responsibilities


* Teach weekly trumpet lessons to undergraduate music majors, music minors, and/or non-majors.


* Hold studio classes.


* Mentor and prepare students for juries, competitions, graduate school auditions, etc.


* Actively recruit by engaging with high school programs, youth orchestras, festivals, and clinics.


* Coach orchestra harpists.


* Coach chamber music as needed.


* Adjudicate performance juries and orchestra auditions.

Minimum qualifications


* Master of Music


* 3+ years of studio teaching experience

Preferred qualifications


* College-level harp teaching experience


* Doctor of Musical Arts degree
