Position Summary:
As a Community Health Worker (CHW) Trainee you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of people living with complex and/or chronic conditions, many of whom also face multiple barriers accessing care and need the help of CHW’s.

During the 8-week training program, the CHW Trainee will participate in CHW coursework while also working in assigned Clinical Departments learning on-the-job skills related to the work of NeighborHealth Community Health Workers.

During the Trainee period, all Trainees will report to the Director of Workforce Development.



* Participate fully in the 8-week training program by attending all in-person and zoom trainings. 



* Join in all on-the-job training in various Clinical Dpts 



* Reflect NeighborHealth core values. 



* Maintain a professional attitude. 



* Work in assigned NeighborHealth Department supporting the needs of that Department, their colleagues, and patients (if applicable)  



* Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance. 



* Participate in required departmental activities.   



* Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance. 



* Adhere to all NeighborHealth and departmental policies and procedures. 



* Use NeighborHealth devices appropriately. 



* Follow established departmental policies and procedures for environmental safety and infection control. 



* Perform other related duties from the clinical department as needed.

EDUCATION: 


* High School Diploma or G.E.D. BLS required at hire. 

 LANGUAGE: 


* Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required 

 SKILLS/ABILITIES: 


* Able to anticipate potential problems and problem-solve independently. Good communication skills with the ability to work with different NeighborHealth departments both independently and as a team member.  

Program Rate is $20.00 per hour
