Systems Engineer II - Border and Force Protection Program
Job Summary:
The Systems Engineer II - CBTT participates in the design, development, testing, and analysis of products, equipment or processes; and performs a variety of assignments, under close guidance, requiring the application of basic engineering and scientific principles and techniques.
Systems engineering covers the full product lifecycle, from concept through development and deployment, and ultimately, disposal.
It concentrates on the design and application of the whole system as distinct from the parts.
It involves looking at a problem in its entirety, taking into account all the facets and all the variables and relating the social to the technical aspect.
The incumbent will assist in the design, development, testing, and analysis of products, equipment or processes; and perform a variety of assignments, under close guidance, requiring the application of basic engineering and scientific principles and techniques.
This role will find analytical skills and ability to plan and lead system engineering activities will be challenged on a daily basis.
Responsibilities and Tasks (listed in bullet format) in order of priority to be successful
* Assist system engineers with subjects related to all aspects of systems engineering, including, but not limited to:
* Requirements analysis
* Systems architecture and detailed design
* Simulation and modeling of complex systems
* Preliminary and Detailed design
* Prototyping
* Data Analysis and Process Improvement
* Integration and testing/verification
* System troubleshooting
* Provide individual technical contribution and systems engineering leadership in the development of advanced systems
* Work assignments through the development cycle from concept development, system trade-off analysis, system requirements definition and flow down, system architecture design, system integration and test…all the way down to evaluation of system performance at both the component and system level.
* Support engineering project teams in the pursuit of new business, including the definition of advanced design concepts to address customer needs, preparation of engineering inputs, cost estimates and schedules for proposals.
* Utilize and maintain existing analytical models, develop new models, design tests, and validate performance simulations using standard or developed test equipment.
* Conduct research and prepare technical documentation based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
* Work with variety of stakeholders including interfacing with internal and external project teams, company personnel (Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Business Development), and the customer community.
Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-optical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related...
