Job Description:

Shift: Monday to Friday (some weekends) 3:30 pm-12:00 am

Position Overview:

The Plastic Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining blow molding processes to ensure the production of high-quality plastic products.  This role includes machine startups, troubleshooting, mold and tooling changes, and process audits.  The technician plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement and product development efforts.

Essential Responsibilities


* Monitor and adjust blow molding machines to maintain optimal performance.


* Start up and shut down blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment (blenders, chillers, towers).


* Monitors regrind material usage and adjust equipment to prevent excess accumulation.


* Maintain process parameters within specified limits and document findings.


* Participate in mold trials and product validation to support new product development.


* Conduct process audits and record results for quality assurance.


* Perform mold and head tooling changes on blow molding machines.


* Assist maintenance with minor machine repairs.


* Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.


* Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: 


* Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Experience:


* Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.


* Experience in continuous extrusion blow molding preferred; general blow molding experience is a plus.

* Mechanical Aptitude


* Troubleshooting Skills


* Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment


* Ability to apply new technical knowledge and stay current with industry developments


* Capable of performing mold/tooling changes and minor equipment repairs
