Staff Development Officer - MHSA Pei Regional Admin.

The Staff Development Officer (SDO ) will works with various partners and program teams to support Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) activities and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities include collaborating with staff across programs, providing effective feedback, and supporting the development and data tracking of the Integrated Plan (IP).
The Staff Development Officer promotes system integration, monitors provider performance and contract adherence, and oversees Early Intervention activities.
It also serves as a liaison between RUHS-Behavioral Health, providers, and fiscal teams, while supervising and coordinating assigned staff.
The MHSA PEI Regional Administration team is seeking candidates with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting, scheduling, data tracking, and presentations.
Class Concept
Under general direction, plans, organizes and conducts one or more segments of a program of training and staff development provided to operational, management, supervisory, and paraprofessional employees in various departments; coordinates in-service training activities; assists and advises supervisory personnel in methods of training and staff development; performs other related duties as required.
The Staff Development Officer is the lead level classification in the Staff Development series and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position.
Incumbents exercise a high degree of independent judgement, provide project oversight to subordinate staff and perform the most complex assignments that require extensive knowledge and proficiency.
Incumbents may not provide oversight to a unit of staff, but provide a specialized, unique skill-set to a division.
The Staff Development Officer provides staff development and training primarily to management, supervisory and other departmental staff.
Depending on area of assignment, the Staff Development Officer is responsible for either providing induction and in-service training activities or, for providing supervisory and management skills training for departmental supervisory and management staff.
The Staff Development Officer is distinguished from the Supervising Staff Development Officer in that the latter is required to provide technical assistance and supervision to subordinate staff.
The Staff Development Officer is further distinguished from the Staff Development Manager is that the latter provides full management and oversight to training programs within the department.
