Maintenance Technician Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


* Assist in performing preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime


* Conduct assigned weekly inspections, including checking oil levels, lubricating equipment, and identifying potential issues


* Support maintenance technicians with equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and changeovers as needed


* Complete small-scale maintenance and repair tasks to support continuous production operations


* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and production floor areas


* Perform basic fabrication work to support equipment repairs and modifications


* Operate floor cleaning equipment and ensure production aisles are cleaned on a regular weekly schedule


* Perform painting and minor facility improvements to maintain a safe and professional work environment


* Assist with production-related projects, including equipment setup and process improvements


* Support facility maintenance projects, including building repairs and general upkeep


* Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE


* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred


* Basic mechanical aptitude with an interest in industrial maintenance


* Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred but not required


* Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely


* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment


* Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team


* Good organizational skills and attention to detail


* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods


* Flexibility to support maintenance needs during production hours, including occasional overtime if required
