It Manager

Job Description

\n\n\n SUMMARY

This position manages several teams of AutoZoners in the development, implementation, and support of AutoZone's existing and new software applications and hardware platforms.

Works closely with business partners to ensure that new applications meet the practical needs of the company and with support teams to ensure operational stability.

RESPONSIBILITIES


* Builds relationship with key business partners to identify and resolve business issues.


* Manages system development and support activities to meet business needs in a timely and cost effective manner while ensuring the right things get done as per the governance process.


* Manages and tracks the progress of multiple projects.

Performs project management and administration that include work plans, resource planning and control, writing status reports, and preparing annual budgets.


* Communicates status of activities with teams, peers, management, and business partners.


* Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff.

REQUIREMENTS


* Level of Formal Education:A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.


* Area of Study:Computer science or related field preferred.


* Years of Experience:More than seven years.


* Type of Experience:Team management.


* Special Certifications or Technical Skills:• Knowledge of MS Office.


* Expert proficiency with the AutoZone software architecture, methodology, governance, and roll-out/implementation process.


* People leadership/supervisory skills.


* Technical skills may include experience with one or more of: UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cobol, Java, MS SQL, C, C++, Informix, Greenplum, Hadoop, ATG, QT4, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2/SQL, JCL, CSP, CICS, TCP/IP, Networking and LAN administration.


* Problem solving and analytical skills.


* Presentation, facilitation and writing skills.


* Project management - estimating, planning, controlling, and execution.


* Other/Preferred: Manage and lead a team of IT AutoZoners that includes assigning/monitoring work, providing feedback, coaching, counseling, and salary administration.
