Safety Intern

The Test Technology Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc.

(ARA) is seeking a motivated Safety Intern to support our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program.

This position offers hands‑on experience within a federal contracting environment, supporting multiple operational locations with a focus on safety compliance, hazard identification, and day‑to‑day safety operations.

The role is based at our Kirtland Air Force Base location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities


* Assist with facility and site safety inspections across multiple locations


* Support hazard identification, risk evaluation, and risk acceptance documentation


* Maintain and restock first aid supplies and safety equipment


* Track and organize safety-related inventory


* Assist with documentation, reporting, and basic billing coordination


* Support implementation of safety programs, procedures, and site-specific requirements


* Participate in safety meetings, briefings, and field activities as assigned

Preferred Background


* Currently pursuing a degree in Fire Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related field


* Interest in workplace safety, compliance, and risk management


* Strong organizational and communication skills


* Ability to work in both office and field environments
