Park Maintenance Worker - Parks

The County of Riverside seeks candidates to fill positions throughout Riverside County.

A list of eligible candidates will be established to fill current and future vacancies.

The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District has an opportunity for a Park Maintenance Worker to service the Rancho Jurupa Regional Park.

The selected candidate will ensure park facilities are safe, clean, and fully operational by performing landscaping, trash removal, restroom upkeep, and general repairs.

They will conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of playgrounds, irrigation systems, equipment, and building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

The role also involves assisting with renovations, maintaining tools and equipment, responding promptly to maintenance requests or emergencies, and performing other duties as assigned, supporting a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.

Key Qualifications and Skills:


* Experience in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work


* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues


* Proficient in performing routine building maintenance and repairs


* Skilled in preventative maintenance techniques to ensure facility reliability


* Experience working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety

The Park Maintenance Worker - Parks is a first professional level classification and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position.

The Park Maintenance Worker - Parks is distinguished from the Grounds Worker classification by the former's assignment of skilled and semi-skilled work.

Work Schedule: This position follows a 4/10 schedule, Sunday through Wednesday, from 7:00 a.m.

to 5:30 p.m., with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off.

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime will be required to support special events and to meet departmental operational needs.
