General Utility-Lab
Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory testing to ensure product quality and compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
This position involves collecting, preparing, and analyzing samples from raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
In addition, the QA Lab Technician supports overall food safety and quality initiatives by maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Job is an individual contributor.
• Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
• Perform chemical and physical testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished products (fat, moisture, salt, and pH testing).
• Accurately record, interpret, and verify test results against established specifications and standards.
• Notify management immediately of non-conforming results and assist in follow-up investigations.
• Accurately enter test results and sample data into OSI's system.
• Maintain detailed and organized laboratory records to support traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Assemble, package, and prepare samples for shipment to external laboratories.
• Perform routine quality control checks, calibration, and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Report any malfunctions or equipment concerns to management.
• Clean and sanitize laboratory equipment and tools following standard procedures.
• Remove waste, clean spills promptly, and maintain a safe, orderly, and hygienic work environment.
• Collaborate with QA, Production, and Operations teams to support overall quality objectives.
• Participate in internal audits, inspections, and training as required.
• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures.
This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.

Experience & Skills:
• 0-1 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• High attention to detail and strong observational skills.
• Ability to work in cold or refrigerated environments.
Preferred Education:
• High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
Work Environment:
• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
• Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
• This role does not require any domestic travel
• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds
