New Graduate Nurse:

EXPECTATIONS:


* The graduate nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse) will begin working by training with licensed floor nurses for a 5 week time frame after graduation.


* During this training time, the graduate nurse is required to complete a competency checklist.


* The graduate nurse will schedule and take NCLEX-PN/RN


* During training, the graduate nurse is to report to the licensed nurse on the floor/nurse managers.


* After passing NCLEX-PN/RN the nurse will assume the role outlined below.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Training:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Maintains a current unencumbered licensed to practice in the state where employed

Seeks opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Is responsible for maintaining clinical competency as evidenced by application of integrated nursing knowledge and skills, leadership and communication skills.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Physical Demands:

Able to be on feet standing or walking 8-12 hours per day

Able to lift 60-70 lbs on occasional basis
