Child & Adolescent Service System Program Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position works collaboratively with various child-serving systems to promote interagency coordination and service delivery.
Identify gaps in service systems and provide recommendations to Department Heads for follow-up.
Represent cross-system children’s issues with community groups.
Advocate for children, adolescents, and families.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:
* Collect, compile, and analyze information and data related to services for children.
* Provide input to service system partners on service system gaps, participate in related problem resolution, service development, and implementation.
* Attend and participate in interagency meetings as requested.
* Serves as MH/DD liaison on Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Complex Case Child and Adolescent review teams.
* Link parents, families, and community members with varied service system resources.
* Attend Regional and State CASSP meetings and conferences.
* Facilitate and co-chair ad hoc Berks MH/DD Advisory Board CASSP Advisory Sub-Committee meetings.
* Attend Board and Committee meetings related to the child-serving systems.
* Investigate complaints on behalf of families and advocates.
* Organize and distribute information regarding community resources for children and families to cross-system partners.
* Facilitate county cross-system Human Services Trainings and other community training needs.
* Support other MH/DD Program functions, including but not limited to: provider meetings, Block Grant Planning, Emergency Behavioral Health (EBH), and Suicide Prevention Task Force.
* If the incumbent is approved by the State of PA to work as an Emergency Services Delegate(ESD), then they will act as ESD on the MH/DD Program Team, reviewing specific situations as identified by Crisis Intervention, determining whether a warrant should be authorized, and ensuring all other requirements stipulated under the Mental Health Procedures Act.
* An Emergency Services Delegate requires the incumbent to be available to participate in a 7-day, 24-hour on-call rotation program.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor’s degree required/ Master’s degree preferred.
* Two years of professional-level experience in the human services/child-serving field.
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
* Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a good driving record.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Working knowledge of the various systems that provide services to children (Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities Program, Children and Youth Services, Juvenile Probation Office, Drug and Alcohol services, Education) and CASSP System Principles.
