SUMMARY
The Admissions Team Intern will support the centralized Admissions team in managing patient referrals, maintaining accurate documentation, and assisting with operational reporting.
This internship provides exposure to healthcare operations and the patient admissions process within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The intern will collaborate with Admissions Coordinators, Triage Nurses, and operational leadership to support referral processing activities and assist with reporting on admissions activity and performance.
This role is ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in healthcare administration, healthcare operations, or data analytics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Referral Processing & Operational Support
* Assist the Admissions team with referral intake support activities, including document organization, data validation, and system updates.
* Help ensure required patient documentation and records are properly indexed and available for review.
* Support tracking of referral status and follow-up activities to ensure timely progression through the admissions workflow.
* Assist with preparing referral summaries and supporting documentation for clinical review when needed.
* Maintain accurate documentation of referral activities within admissions systems.
Data Tracking & Reporting
* Compile admissions activity reports including referral volumes, referral status, and outcomes.
* Assist in reviewing dashboards and spreadsheets used to track admissions team performance and referral progress.
* Support the preparation of basic reports or presentations for internal team meetings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with Admissions Coordinators and clinical staff to understand the end-to-end admissions workflow.
* Participate in team meetings and support coordination between admissions and clinic teams as needed.
* Provide administrative and operational support to the admissions leadership team.
