About You

We're looking for someone who has:


* The ability to work onsite in Henry County, as this is a requirement for the role.


* A high school diploma (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of construction or inspection experience on roadway projects, or completion of a 2- or 4-year engineering technology or engineering program


* Preferably experience on TDOT or municipal roadway projects requiring daily records and reports on asphalt paving, concrete work, grading, structural work, and erosion control


* Licenses/registrations/certifications such as TDOT CEI certifications are a plus; may be required to participate in certification and training courses post-hire including OSHA, TDOT, or client-specific required training


* Strongly preferred completion of Level 1, and preferably Level 2, of the state's Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (EPSC) Training Program


* Familiarity with construction techniques, design principles, TDOT specifications, and documents


* Ability or willingness to learn the use of tools and equipment such as air meters, slump cones, transit levels, and tape measures


* Competence in computer use for data entry and reporting


* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently


* Effective listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, including good English language knowledge, grammar, composition, and spelling


* Physical ability to frequently sit, use hands to operate tools or equipment, talk, see, hear, reach with hands and arms, walk, stand, and stoop; frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally more-reasonable accommodations may be made to support individuals with disabilities
