About You

We're looking for someone who has:


* The ability to work onsite in Henry County, as this is a requirement for the role.


* A high school diploma (GED) and a minimum of 10 years of construction or inspection experience on roadway projects, or completion of a 2- or 4-year engineering technology or engineering program


* Experience on TDOT or municipal roadway projects preferred, including daily records and reports on asphalt paving, concrete work, grading, structural work, and erosion control


* Licenses, registrations, or certifications such as TDOT CEI Certifications are a plus.

May be required to participate in certification and training courses post-hire as required by OSHA, TDOT, or client-specific requirements.

Certifications could include concrete, asphalt, erosion control, and safety training


* Strongly preferred completion of Level 1 and preferably Level 2 of the state's Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (EPSC) Training Program


* Familiarity with construction techniques, design, TDOT specifications, and documents


* Ability to learn on the job through observation and asking questions


* Familiarity with or the ability to learn to use tools and equipment such as air meter, slump cone, transit, level, and tape measure


* Competence in computer use for data entry and reporting


* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently


* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of English composition, grammar, and spelling


* Physical ability to frequently sit and use hands to operate tools or equipment, talk, see, hear, reach with hands and arms, walk, stand, or stoop; frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally more.

* Willingness to work in a field/outdoor environment exposed to humidity, dust, noise, various temperatures, and high traffic areas


* Use of personal protective equipment is required and provided by the firm
