Dietary Aide
General Purpose

The Dietary Aide supports the Cook and Dietary Supervisor by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Assignments may vary based on the needs of each shift.

Essential Duties


* Learn daily food-service routines quickly


* Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals


* Clean and break down returned trays; wash dishes


* Operate dishwashing machine and monitor water/chlorine temperatures


* Prepare snacks and nourishments


* Stock groceries in a clean, organized, and safe manner


* Sweep, mop, take out trash, and maintain kitchen cleanliness


* Clean work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators


* Maintain sanitary standards in all kitchen areas


* Assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed


* Participate in new staff orientation and ongoing training


* Work cooperatively and respectfully with all departments

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred


* Must obtain and maintain a valid food handler's certificate


* Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements


* Standing and walking for extended periods


* Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, tasting, smelling, and verbal communication


* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs


* Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching


* Adequate vision for close and distance tasks, color identification, and depth perception

Work Environment


* Noise level is typically low to moderate
