Civil Engineer IV - Roadway Design

Ardurra is seeking a Civil Engineer IV to join our Transportation team in Orlando, FL!

This role is focused on state roadway design and project delivery, supporting a mix of design-build and design-bid-build projects across Central Florida.

The ideal candidate is a highly capable engineer who can lead design efforts, mentor staff, and apply advanced engineering judgment using client standards and tools within a MicroStation / OpenRoads Designer (ORD) environment.

Primary Function

The Engineer IV acts as a staff specialist in providing technical guidance for complex or unique assignments.

Independently completes tasks or assigned parts of a project with minimal supervision.

The incumbent must be capable of applying diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices and independently making decisions on significant design engineering problems or methods.

In this role, you will support state roadway design and production efforts, contributing to both design-bid-build and design-build projects across Central Florida.

This position requires strong technical capability within a MicroStation / OpenRoads Designer (ORD) environment and the ability to lead portions of design and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities


* Lead the development of state roadway design plans, including alignments, profiles, cross sections, MOT, and quantities


* Utilize MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for advanced 3D modeling and plan production


* Serve as a technical lead on projects, providing direction and oversight to engineers, designers, and CADD staff


* Review and approve engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and supporting documentation


* Ensure all deliverables meet client standards, scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements


* Coordinate across disciplines including drainage, traffic, structures, and utilities


* Evaluate design alternatives and make recommendations based on engineering judgment, cost, and constructability


* Support design-build and design-bid-build delivery, including coordination with contractors and stakeholders
