Epitaxy Process Engineer
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide sustaining engineering support for SiC epitaxial growth processes and related equipment
* Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to improve yield, quality, and process stability
* Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools
* Analyze process data using JMP or similar statistical software to identify trends and drive improvements
* Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance uniformity, defect reduction, and efficiency
* Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
* Support and optimize epi reactors and post-epi characterization/metrology tools
* Manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-volume manufacturing environment
* Train and support operators and technicians on process standards and best practices
* Ensure adherence to engineering procedures, safety standards, and cleanroom protocols
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering/science with 5 plus years experience in a related field OR Master's degree in engineering/science with 3 plus years experience in a related field.
* Experience in epitaxy (SiC preferred) and/or semiconductor characterization
* Background in process engineering, data analysis, and process improvement
Technical Skills
* Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE)
* Proficiency with JMP, Minitab, or similar statistical tools
* Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
* Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom environments
* Familiarity with databases and process data systems
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and support 24/7 manufacturing operations
* Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S.
Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.
1324b(a)(3)
Working Conditions
* 100% on-site in a semiconductor manufacturing facility
Physical Requirements
* Ability to perform hands-on work in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment
* Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the facility
* Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs as needed
