Job Description
Overview
Continuously improve production processes with engineering solutions in accordance with corporate policies and strategic goals & objectives in order to achieve a safe work environment, customer satisfaction, and desired return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Analyzes processes as well as collects and validates data in order to identify improvement opportunities in quality, safety, productivity and processes (including technology)
* Identifies and implements opportunities for efficiency improvements through programs such as Lean and 6 Sigma (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control)
* Designs fixture/tooling and designs ergonomic improvements and Mistake Proofing Constraints
* Verifies and validates new processes based on Standard Operating Procedures as well as documents current processes
* Supports all new product technology programs as they move from development to production and assists in designing reviews with DFM/A, PFMEA and Control Plan input
* Work with Manufacturers and Technicians to identify production and assembly problems and provide corrective actions
* Participates in and supports HSE projects and procedures, including Behavior Observations, Training, Ergonomics, and Investigations
* Works closely with Safety, Production, Quality, Services, and Vendors in order to improve a variety of production and other processes
* Design work holding, tooling, weld fixtures, to support the manufacturing operation
* Produce technical deliverables (e.g., 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, test reports, analysis reports, etc.) for manufacturing processes
Experience
* Experience with manufacturing processes and processes improvement methods (e.g., PDCA, DMAIC, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S, etc.)
* Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) and inspection methods
* SolidWorks
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Intermediate MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills; familiarity with MS Access
