Operation Manager Vice President

Job Responsibilities


* Perform independent assessments of the risk; plan, execute and document reports, by partnering closely with GEO stakeholders and Control Managers.

In this role you will be provided with the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of the Risk Management Framework JPMorgan Chase.


* These assessments will require development of a testing approach, as well as the reporting on the effectiveness of controls that support a broad range of risk stripes.


* Share information with internal/external stakeholders frequently, transparently and effectively to promote clarity and understanding.

Analyse risks and proactively identify areas for improvement where vulnerabilities are identified.


* Detail findings and use judgment to provide guidance on the risk and controls environment.

Communicate issues to Stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.


* Monitor and regularly review improvement opportunities.


* Influence training agenda to ensure broader team stays current on methodology, technology, tools and relevant industry trends.


* Partner with Stakeholders on change initiatives, supporting a culture of engagement while adding value.


* Promote an inclusive and diverse work environment where team members are encouraged to ask questions, seek advice and continually learn.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities


* 8-12 years of experience in Operations, Controls Management, Product Control, or Audit roles within Equities.


* Business and Industry Knowledge - Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Equity Operations - trade management, clearing, settlements, margin & collateral, payments, and reconciliations.


* Methodology & Analytical Skills - Employs critical thinking to respond to changes in the work environment.

Maintains an independent and objective approach, considers facts without personal bias.

Good understanding of internal controls and risk assessment concepts and strong analytical skills to assess and challenge where necessary.


* Teamwork - Completes work effectively and efficiently; clears obstacles.

Executes assignments independently, with limited supervision.

Actively listens and achieves a common understanding of agreed upon outcomes and actions/next steps.


* Communication - Demonstrates ability to synthesize information extracted from relevant risk analysis and control assessment techniques.

Is clear and concise in both written and verbal communications, with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management in a persuasive manner .

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities


* 8-12 years of experience in Payments, Operations, Product Control, or Treasury roles within Equities or related asset classes.


* Strong Equities product knowledge (preferably in one or more: Prime Brokerage, Cleared Derivatives, FXPB, EDG, Cash Equities).
