What You Will Do

* Operate in the waste treatment plant - including sludge processing and dewatering equipment, clarifiers, aeration basins, and RPW/wastewater flow paths - taking ownership for safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance beyond routine lab tasks.

* Control and optimize process flows and equipment: monitor control panels/SCADA, interpret meter readings and instrumentation, manually or remotely adjust valves, and start/stop pumps to regulate filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge dewatering operations.

* Collect representative samples across the treatment train (influent, process stages, sludge, discharge) following chain-of-custody and safety protocols, and connect lab results directly to operational adjustments and process decisions.

* Perform routine chemical and biological analyses (pH, DO, BOD/COD, TSS, nutrients, microbial assays, etc.) using field and bench instruments (pH/DO probes, spectrophotometers, balances, colorimetric devices), and ensure proper sample handling, preservation, and error-proofing of results.

* Translate analytical data into operational actions: determine load requirements, recommend polymer dosing, aeration setpoints, sludge wasting rates, and other control changes to maintain permit compliance and optimize throughput.
