Dietary Cook

Position Summary:

Rossmoor Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dietary Cook to join our team part-time.

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in accordance with dietary guidelines, physician orders, and facility standards.

This role plays a vital part in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and dietary requirements

Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and safety regulations

Modify meals to accommodate special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, texture-modified)

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment

Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed

Properly store food and label items to ensure freshness and compliance

Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet resident needs

Assist with meal service and portion control as required

Qualifications:

Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service setting preferred

Knowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets is a plus

Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Strong attention to detail and food safety practices

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Team-oriented with good communication skills

Schedule:

Part Time position

Must be available to work weekends (Friday - Sunday)

Pay: $22-$24 hourly
