Float RN — Postpartum & Newborn Care (Summary)
This Float RN role provides expert, compassionate care to postpartum patients and newborns across multiple clinical areas.

The nurse uses strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and evidence‑based practice to deliver safe, high‑quality care in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.

The position emphasizes patient advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and maintaining excellence across diverse units.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
• Use the full nursing process to deliver individualized, evidence‑based care
• Manage complex clinical situations with strong critical‑thinking skills
• Administer medications safely and maintain sterile technique
• Educate, support, and advocate for patients and families
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality care

Professional Practice
• Maintain accurate documentation and adjust care plans based on patient needs
• Mentor new team members and support ongoing competency development
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and patient‑centered care

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or diploma from an accredited nursing program
Licensure & Certifications
• Active RN license (compact or single‑state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications

Experience
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
Skills
• Strong communication and customer‑service abilities
• Calm, organized, and effective under pressure
• Excellent critical‑thinking skills and teamwork
