RN Clin Nurse Periop III
GI Lab / Special Procedures RN — Day Shift
This RN role supports the GI Lab and Special Procedures unit, providing safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
The nurse uses the full nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver individualized, evidence‑based care.
The position emphasizes strong critical thinking, collaboration, patient advocacy, and adherence to professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
• Perform comprehensive assessments and deliver individualized, evidence‑based care
• Provide culturally sensitive, relationship‑based patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring understanding of care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow current clinical standards
Teamwork & Collaboration
• Coordinate safe, high‑quality patient care across the care continuum
• Participate in interdisciplinary communication, rounds, and case reviews
• Support a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
• Contribute to performance improvement and shared governance initiatives
Professional Development
• Complete required education and competency assessments
• Serve as a mentor or preceptor to support the development of other nurses and students
• Engage in ongoing learning, research utilization, and evidence‑based practice
Quality, Safety & Resource Management
• Follow organizational policies, regulatory standards, and ethical nursing practice
• Participate in developing protocols to improve outcomes and reduce adverse events
• Use resources efficiently and support safe, effective patient care
Education
• Associate’s degree or Nursing Diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
Licensure & Certifications
• Active RN license (single‑state or compact)
• BLS certification
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience
Skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond effectively to emergencies
• Excellent time management and critical‑thinking abilities
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort with clinical technology
