Civil Project Engineer- Land Development

Ardurra is looking to hire an experienced Civil Engineer for our Civil Practice in either of our Atlanta, GA offices (Marietta or Buford).

Our civil engineers, urban planners, landscape architects and staff scientists work together daily to plan and create sustainable human environments by offering comprehensive land development services ranging from due diligence and master planning to design and construction administration.

The Civil Engineer will play a vital role in delivering high-quality site design, planning, permitting, and oversight of construction for our clients, which include some of the top land development clients in the country.

The projects will utilize a wide range of land development expertise, which will include the design of streets, roadways, sanitary sewer, watermains, storm drainage, stormwater BMPs, etc., throughout the greater Atlanta region.

Primary Function: 

The Civil Project Engineer will work semi - independently and performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project.

The incumbent must be capable of exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications.

Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.

Assignments involve some unusual or difficult problems requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry level.

Primary Duties: 


* Develops and marks up drawings, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project


* Collaborates with suppliers to design and specify equipment


* Prepares technical specifications for review and approval


* Evaluates contractors’ bids and shop drawings to assure compliance with specifications


* Assists with development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures


* Prepares technical reports, studies, or models in support of design or planning efforts


* Prepares permit application packages and responses to agency questions


* Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data, as necessary


* Provides assistance and support to proposal teams or proposal managers


* Provides direction to CADD staff, designers and Engineer I for the portion of the work they are developing if they are not completing the work in CADD directly

Education and Experience Requirements: 


* Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent


* Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred


* 2-5 years’ related work experience
