Maintenance Technician

Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities.

This role requires a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.

The technician must be able to travel to various work locations on demand.

Key Responsibilities


* Inspect buildings and structures to identify functional systems, malfunctions, and needed repairs.


* Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and cords.


* Conduct minor plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing hoses.


* Carry out minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work including surface preparation, painting, and hardware installation.


* Perform general cleaning and upkeep of facilities.


* Operate and maintain mechanical tools, paint equipment, and floor machines.


* Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:


* High school diploma or GED with a certificate in trade school or equivalent work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance.


* Basic understanding of facility-related systems and operations.


* Valid driver's license with a good driving record and insurable by agency insurance.


* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Working Conditions


* Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, and listening.


* Occasional sitting.


* Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.


* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
