Job Description
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Pay: $18 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Key Responsibilities
Grinding & Finishing
• Operate surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, belt grinders, and other finishing equipment.
• Grind, deburr, and polish metal parts to meet exact specifications and surface‑finish requirements.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine grinding requirements.
• Inspect parts before, during, and after grinding to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
Quality Control
• Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate production records.
• Identify defects or inconsistencies and communicate issues to supervisors or engineering staff.
Machine Setup & Maintenance
• Set up grinding machines, adjust speeds, feeds, and tooling as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on grinding equipment.
• Ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently throughout each shift.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies, including PPE requirements and safe machine operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area.
• Adhere to quality standards and production procedures.
Qualifications:
Required
• 5+ years of previous experience in metal grinding, machining, or metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances.
• Strong understanding of metal types, grinding wheels, abrasives, and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
• Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.
Preferred
• Experience in a high‑precision or ISO‑certified manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with CNC grinding equipment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
