Salary £60,000 per annum plus 34 days leave rising to 39 with matching pension contributions up to 7% and life insurance of 3x basic salary

What you’ll do 


* Advise colleagues on commercial issues to reduce legal risk. 


* Draft and negotiate contracts that support services, suppliers and partners. 


* Spot legal issues early and give clear recommendations that guide decisions. 


* Build strong relationships so teams come to you before a problem grows. 


* Track transactions and share trends to help improve how we work.

You have 


* Proven experience of handling your own workload and providing sound independent legal advice. 


* Confidence in identifying commercial risks and negotiate commercial contracts independently. 


* Proven experience of supervising or mentoring members of a team, supporting other team members to make decisions.  


* A law degree or are a solicitor or barrister, or equivalent with experience in commercial and/or public sector legal work. 


* Sound knowledge of commercial contract and procurement law.  


* Knowledge and experience of Information Technology contracts could also be beneficial.  


* You have strong communication skills and build trusted relationships.

The practical bits 


* You’ll work Monday to Friday, part-time will also be considered.  


* You’ll manage your own diary. 


* We typically work on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week in our Newcastle office, with the rest from home.

Our anchor days in the office are currently Monday and Wednesday.
