Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant helps maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe, efficient, and well-functioning condition.

This role supports daily maintenance operations and works closely with nursing and leadership teams to ensure resident comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities


* Perform routine maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general upkeep)


* Maintain grounds, parking areas, and common spaces


* Replace light bulbs, clean windows/screens, and perform general facility upkeep


* Respond to maintenance requests and assist with unscheduled repairs as needed


* Follow maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines


* Coordinate maintenance work with nursing staff in resident care areas


* Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and incidents promptly


* Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment

Qualifications


* Maintenance or general facilities experience preferred


* Strong work ethic, dependability, and teamwork skills


* Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance schedules


* Willingness to learn and grow within the role
