Intern – Software Developer, Document Control, Global Quality

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Developer Intern to join our Global Quality Document Control team for Summer 2026.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in creating a large-scale team management database with key Enterprise integrations, work alongside industry professionals, and contribute to meaningful project that support Coherent business and company objectives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Lead software development to create a new tool to replace existing inefficient process.


* Integration with two key Enterprise systems Oracle Agile and MS Outlook.


* Collaborate with IT team and Change Analysts.


* Identify roadblocks and challenges, escalate as needed and coordinate resolution.


* Will need to develop proposal with Enterprise Systems Director, execute software development, integrate this software with existing systems, generate test script for CRP/UAT, support training of Coherent users, generate training documentation and user procedures.

Education & Experience


* Education Level Required: Bachelor's
+ Rising Senior (completed 3 years by start)


* Majors: Computer Science


* Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in API's and Integrations between systems is a plus.


* Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.

Skills & Other Requirements


* Excellent written and verbal communication.


* Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.


* Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.


* Attention to detail and time management.


* Experience programming cloud-based Databases


* Researching and establishing methods for achieving integrations between custom software and large Enterprise systems (Oracle Agile, Outlook)


* Internship Duration: 10 - 14 weeks.

* This role will be based on-site in Santa Clara.


* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
