Overview

The Human Resources Intern supports the Human Resources department in the daily administration of hotel HR operations.

This position provides hands-on experience in recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, HR systems, and hospitality policies and procedures.

The intern will interact with associates across all departments and assist in delivering a positive associate experience consistent with HEI Hotels & Resorts standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



* Assist with recruiting activities, including learning to conduct phone screens and scheduling interviews for non-management hotel positions.



* Support the development and execution of a college recruiting program



* Attend daily departmental stand-up meetings and observe employee relations practices



* Provide HR office coverage by answering phone calls, greeting associates, and serving as a first point of contact for associate inquiries



* Learn and utilize the HRIS system (Workday) for administrative and employee-related processes



* Assist with associate relations events and recognition, as needed, e.g.

Associate of the Month program, Associate Anniversary Awards program, etc.



* Assist with new hire onboarding and co-conduct orientation sessions with support from the HR Representative



* Coordinate all other pre-selection activities, including drug testing; reference checks, etc., to ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures



* Learn and apply hotel policies, procedures, and HR compliance standards



* Respond to all interviewed applicants via telephone or letter within the required time frame .
