Accountant II
The County of Riverside's Assessor/Clerk Recorder Department is currently recruiting for an Accountant II position assigned to the Support Services Division, located in Riverside.
This position performs professional-level accounting work involving financial analysis, budget development, and fiscal oversight in support of departmental operations.
The Accountant II works independently on complex accounting assignments and provides analytical support related to budgets, costs, rates, and fees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Develop and analyze budgets, including forecasting and variance analysis.
* Process and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (A/P and A/R) activities.
* Prepare and maintain cost models, including analysis of rates and fees.
* Conduct financial analysis to support management decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with County policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
* Prepare financial reports and provide recommendations based on analytical findings.
* Perform related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience using the following systems and tools:
+ Sherpa
+ Simpler
+ Microsoft 365, including Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret financial data and present findings clearly to executives.
* Experience in a governmental or public-sector accounting environment is highly desirable.

The County Clerk services range from issuing marriage licenses and performing marriage ceremonies to accepting filings of Fictitious Business Name Statements.
The Records Management Archives Program (RMAP) unit provides professional records managementservicesand the Archives Program provides public access to the history of Riverside County.• Establish, review, revise, and maintain controls on fiscal recordkeeping functions in an assigned unit.
• Examine and analyze fiscal recordkeeping systems and procedures.
• Examine, analyze, and verify fiscal documents (e.g., vouchers, warrants, requisitions, purchase orders, receiving records, and invoices).
• Prepare trial balances, reconciliations, work sheets, and schedules.
• Prepare a variety of accounting, statistical, and narrative reports.
