In this role you will be accountable for:


* Supporting implementation of the H&S management strategy, mine safety management system framework and H&S risk reduction programs, ensuring priority remains on critical risk management.


* Conducting trend analysis and interrogating governance systems, to identify continuous improvement focus areas, and value add by initiating and participating in special projects.


* Supporting the H&S Manager as required, including tracking and facilitation of Statutory Reporting, liaising with Corporate and Regulatory officials.


* Demonstrating due diligence to achieve and maintain operational awareness with a disciplined approach to legal compliance and proactive risk management.


* Providing strategic and operational advice to the H&S Manager to ensure that training and development is suitable for the operation and associated risks.


* Actively coordinating and supporting a team of safety professionals through mentoring, coaching, training facilitation, career development and succession planning activities.


* Identifying and initiating localised Fatal and Serious Injury Prevention initiatives and influence leaders to reduce risk and share best practice.


* Acting in the role of location H&S Manager as required, including provision of leave coverage.
