EHS Intern

The EHS Internship position is involved in the day-to-day activities of the EHS Department; assisting in coordination and preparation of reports, training manuals and programs along with many other duties relating to environmental health and safety.

This is a Summer Internship that would run for 10+ weeks and has flexible start and end dates.

To facilitate training and development, this internship is expected to be completed in-person at Actus’s Eden Prairie, MN office. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Monitor and analyze data such as safety inspections, exposure level testing, injuries, safety incentive program, SDS program, etc.


* Participate in safety audits and inspections as directed by the safety manager.


* Develop EHS Policies, procedures and audit checklists for OSHA compliance.


* Compile data and generate reports by entering data into computer, determining information to include in reports, verifying data and distributing reports to appropriate parties.


* Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.


* Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.

Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.


* Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of Actus products.


* 10% Travel to local manufacturing locations to complete project work.

QUALIFICATIONS:


* General knowledge of regulations - OSHA, EPS, and DNR


* Excellent oral and written communication skills


* Team spirited, dynamic, innovative, results-oriented, and autonomous


* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint


* Good organizational and multitasking skills


* Strong willingness to learn

The starting hourly range for this position is $18.00 USD.

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to education, skill set and depth of experience.
