Finance Intern

The Finance Intern will be a key member of the Finance team with hands-on involvement in Accounts Receivable, credit risk evaluation, cash forecasting, and financial process improvement initiatives.

This role offers broad exposure to core financial operations and provides the opportunity to support critical decision making through reporting, analysis and execution of key finance workflows.

This is a Summer Internship that would run for 10+ weeks and has flexible start and end dates.

To facilitate training and development, this internship is expected to be completed in-person at Actus’s Eden Prairie, MN office. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Learn and support the full Accounts Receivable cycle, including customer inquiries, billing, cash application, and resolution of outstanding items


* Provide support to AR team members and ensure timely and accurate processing of customer-related transactions


* Perform customer credit risk assessments using financial data, payment history, and external credit information


* Develop and present credit limit recommendations to Finance leadership


* Prepare the weekly cash collection forecast for integration into the Actus cash planning process


* Assist with tracking collections performance and identifying trends or variances


* Collaborate with Finance department leaders to streamline workflows and implement new processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and compliance


* Support documentation and rollout of updated finance procedures


* Contribute to monthly reporting activities and provide analysis supporting customer, production, and operational metrics


* Participate in ad-hoc analytics, reporting tasks, and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


* Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint


* Experience with financial statement analysis and knowledge of general financial ratios


* Comfortable developing answers to ambiguous questions.


* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with changing priorities.


* Self-motivated, proactive individual who constantly seeks improvement opportunities.


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to a variety of audiences.

The starting hourly range for this position is $18.00 USD.
