Transportaton Planner

Key Responsibilities


* Prepares shipping schedules, plans, reports and quotes.


* Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods.


* Troubleshoots shipping process and provides customer assistance.


* Enters truckload rates, accessorial charges, fuel updates, and solves TMS issues.


* Coordinates with other departments, customers, and trucking firms.


* Assists with inventory management, freight coordination, and documentation.


* Manages overall inventory levels for Milwaukee and Sweetwater mills.


* Monitors, analyzes, and updates minimum/maximum inventory levels; develops KPI reporting.


* Oversees odd-lot inventory management and consumption planning.


* Coordinates warehouse space utilization and capacity planning.


* Works cross-functionally to ensure inventory flows support customer demand.


* Ensures compliance with inventory accuracy, documentation, and cycle count standards.

Education and Experience


* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) + 2-4 years relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills


* Knowledge of trucking, transportation, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving.


* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management.


* Strong communication & interpersonal skills.


* Basic accounting knowledge.
